Γιάννης Μαρκόπουλος "60 χρόνια μουσικής" στο Ωδείο Ηρώδου Αττικού

Yannis Markopoulos “60 years of music” at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus

Here is a more formal version of the text:

“Yannis Markopoulos marks 60 years of a distinguished musical career and continuous creation. Our preeminent composer, the flagbearer of the movement for a return to roots, and the visionary who revolutionized the music scene of the 1970s, imparting a new identity to contemporary Greek music, celebrated this illustrious anniversary with a grand concert. On Tuesday, September 20, at the Herodeion, cherished songs, orchestral pieces, and some of the most significant moments of his career were performed. On stage were his favored performers from both older and newer generations: George Dalaras, Mario Frangoulis, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Natassa Bofiliou, George Perris, Kostas Triantafyllidis, George Nikiforou Zervakis, and Vana Mani.

The audience filled the Herodeion, honoring Yannis Markopoulos with their presence. At the conclusion, he rose and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the contributors and the audience for their participation.

The Palintonos Armonia Orchestra participated, under the direction of Anastasios Simeonidis, along with the Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Athens, under the direction of Stavros Beris.”
